An Idea For The Dow

There is increasing speculation that General Motors will soon be kicked out of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Of course then comes the speculation about who will replace it. One wag over at Market Watch had the best idea (posted through LA Times Money & Co).

"How about [adding] the U.S. government? They make cars, money, insure, provide mortgages, invest in securities, provide rail transportation, health insurance. You know, a real all-around company."

There it is Uncle Sam-Common Stock. Now all we need is a ticker.
